Springtime in Grimesville

Besides chickens we also want to provide for our own fruits and vegetables. We decided to start small and built three garden beds for onions, black-eyed peas, and potatoes. We also planted tomatoes and okra in the ground. While our vegetables were beginning to grow so were the wild flowers in our fields.

Our potato recipe is pretty solid.

1. Dice several potatoes
2. Cover them with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and rosemary
3. Place on a cookie sheet and bake for about 40 minutes

They are good by themselves or dipped in ketchup or ranch.
